Alliance Party Representative of South Belfast, Allan Leonard, has secured an Easibus pickup for those living in the Donegall Pass area, following a successful meeting with the Manager responsible for Belfast Easibus services, Roy Sloan.
Upon learning of the redirection of the Easibus service EB6, which removed any pickup in the Donegall Pass area, Mr Leonard immediately requested a meeting with Translink representatives to seek a positive solution. As a result, Translink has agreed to accommodate those passengers living in the Donegall Pass area.
Individuals will be collected along the Donegall Pass/Apsley Street/Lindsay Street/Charlotte Street square. Requests will be need to be made to Translink’s Easibus Travel Club on 9073 1117, after an agreed start date.
Mr Leonard said:
“I am pleased with this result, which will reduce the distance people will have to walk to get this valued bus service.
“I appreciate that Translink redirected the service due to not enough people using it. Yet I would encourage individuals to use the ‘call and request’ service. Indeed, if enough people do so, we could argue for a more permanent and fixed service in the Donegall Pass area.
“I will be letting everyone in the area know when they can start ringing up for an Easibus EB6 pickup, and encourage anyone who has a concern or question to contact me directly.”
